Dental x-ray

First Visit

We are always excited to meet new patients during their first visit to our office. Your initial appointment will consist of:

  • An intra-oral and extra-oral exam

  • A discussion with you regarding treatment needs, and prophylaxis (cleaning).

  • Digital Radiographs (X-rays) as needed and appropriate

  • At this time we will schedule any follow-up appointments as needed.

During the initial examination for each patient, we will address the following questions that cover the basics of routine dental treatment. We encourage you to ask questions as well.

  • What brings you into our office?

  • Are there any problems with your oral health or smile that you would like to have addressed?

  • What is the appropriate re-call schedule for your individual needs (3, 4, or 6 month interval)

  • What, if any, further treatments are needed at this time?

While we hope we can answer all your questions during your initial appointment, some cases may need more time or information such as diagnostic models to help determine the best treatment options for you.   In these cases we will schedule a follow-up appointment with your dentist.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your first visit:

  • Any X-rays taken within the past six months.

  • If you have insurance, bring your insurance card. By providing this information at the first visit, we will be able to give you an accurate estimate of any further costs.
